Knoll designs by Harry Bertoia, including the Bertoia Side Chair, the Bertoia Diamond Chair and the Bertoia Bird Chair, are celebrated by Dwell, the magazine that explores modern homes through the eyes of the people who live in them.
The piece highlights “the history of Harry Bertoia's iconic steel wire seating collection from 1952, and a few Dwell homes that showcase the chairs to their best advantage.”
The piece continues, “The only problem with Bertoia chairs is that once you have one you're going to want more.”
The Bertoia Side Chairs, used as dining chairs in the home of architect Barbara Hill “make the dining room a more dynamic space through the shadows the wire frame leaves on the floor.”
With limited exposure to the elements, Bertoia Diamond Chairs and Side Chairs in a powder coat finish are even suitable for use outdoors, “bringing a sense of the industrial to nature.” The Bertoia Bird Chairs, with their unique silhouette, are “the stars of the living room.” Designs by Harry Bertoia, including the Bertoia Asymmetric Chaise, Bertoia Barstools, and the Bertoia Bench, are available through Knoll in a variety of paint and fabric options.
Harry Bertoia’s iconic wire furniture collection is recognized worldwide as one of the great achievements of 20th century furniture design.
