Andrea Coan, Architecture & Design Manager, Knoll Office, is the recipient of the International Interior Design Association New England Chapter's 2015 Star Award. The Star Award "recognizes continuing dedication and outstanding contributions to the interior design profession by an individual, and for many years of service to the New England Chapter." Only one Star Award is awarded each year.
Coan has been Architecture & Design Manager in the Knoll Boston Showroom since 2003. An active IIDA member, Coan brings 24 years of industry experience to her current role, including 10 years as a senior project manager at a national design firm. She is known for creative thinking and individualized understanding of client needs, guiding architects, interior designers and clients with expertise in workplace research, products and sustainable design.
Brittney Herrera, President of IIDA New England, commented on Coan's significant contributions to IIDA's New England Chapter. "Andrea has leveraged her extensive network to connect our community with inspiring speakers and has raised critical sponsorship funds that have enabled robust programs like Emerging Leaders, Student Mentoring and Principal's Round Table to exist," Herrera said.
Working closely with design firms across the region, Coan has brought her background and LEED expertise to LEED certified projects for Bank of America, Beacon Capital, Gensler, City Year, Boston Coach and Greater Boston Food Bank. Other major clients have included Partners Healtchare, WS Development, Hubspot, LogMeIn and GE Healthcare.
