APL

APL provides customers around the world with container transportation services through a network combining high-quality intermodal operations with state-of-the-art information technology. When APL looked to update its National Headquarters in Oakland, California, the company, working with architecture firm Gensler, sought an office system that could become standard in all of its locations. Here, APL required a system that was flexible—it had to perform in both open and private office environments—durable and aesthetically modern.

For these reasons and more, APL selected the Knoll Dividends office system. Dividends is a frame and tile system that offers simple, versatile design and advanced data and electrical capabilities. Workstations on the open plan feature the ergonomic RPM® chair, Series 2 storage, KnollExtra accessories and a convenient lower shelf for binder storage. Overheads provide added space for personal effects. High panels with frosted glass windows on the periphery give structure to the open plan while allowing for the passage of light. Fabric panels in neutral tones complement the tranquil nature of the architecture. And finally, a Propeller table and Chadwick chairs shape a modern, light-filled conference room.
