Edward Barber & Jay Osgerby, the internationally acclaimed studio, have published One by One, a visual collection of projects over the last four years for major manufacturers. The pair's designs for Knoll are featured in the book, including the Barber Osgerby Lounge Collection (2014), the Piton™ collection of stools and side table (2015) and the Barber Osgerby Lounge Chair, which was previewed at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan and at NeoCon earlier this year.
The collection's title refers to the designers as individuals, as well as to their approach to design. "Each project starts in its own unique way," the designers write in the book's introduction. "Sometimes, it's a quick line drawing in a sketchbook, usually when navigating the direction of a project; at other times a more refined watercolor or collage when resolving the form of an object."
Barber & Osgerby held a book launch in the Reading Room at Somerset House, which the designers curated as part of this year's London Design Festival.
