Knoll Design Director Benjamin Pardo traveled to Seoul, South Korea for gathering of 250 clients, designers, journalists and bloggers, hosted by Knoll dealer Duomo & Co.
Knoll Design Director Benjamin Pardo and Andrea Resmini, Knoll Asia are joined with Duomo&Co CEO Jonghee Lee and Associate Jay Park as well as Kaywon University of Art & Design President Kwon Young Gull and Assistant Professor Tae Sun Kim.
Pardo’s address on Knoll design recapped Florence Schust Knoll’s days at Cranbrook Academy in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan with the Saarinen family, and her rigorous academic training, both abroad and in the United States, under the likes of Marcel Breuer and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. Pardo stressed that the precepts established by Hans and Florence Knoll – collaboration, innovation and modernism – are honored throughout the Knoll story and today, citing collaborators from Harry Bertoia to Frank Gehry to David Adjaye.

Pardo wrapped up his visit at the Kaywon University of Art & Design. The students and professors experienced Pardo detailing the Knoll product development strategy and the brand’s legacy. He also provided the audience with insight into the collaborative process inherent to Knoll, drawing on the collaborative process between the designers and architects with teams of engineers and craftsman to create inspired products for working and living.
