The Magazine publishes nine city editions across the U.S., including Atlanta, Boston, South Florida and Scottsdale. Designed by Marcel Breuer in 1928, the design reflects Breuer’s exploration of manipulated steel to create visually light furniture. The resulting continuous steel metal frame with a cantilever seat is one of the most widely recognized silhouettes of the 20th century.
Gear Patrol, a print and digital publication that practices product journalism and reaches nearly two million readers, included the Barcelona Couch in its yearly round-up of the best leather couches to buy in 2020. The article evaluated couches based on price and style. The Barcelona Couch was designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in 1930 and resembles the Barcelona Chair designed as part of the German Pavilion at the 1929 International Exposition in Barcelona. Gear Patrol quips, “If it’s good enough for Spanish royalty, it’s good enough for you.”
