The recently opened LA Home Design Shop continues to makes waves in West Hollywood. The shiny metallics and new European introduction have caught the attention of Robb Report and Departures: Home and Design - both editorial staples of lifestyle luxury. Featured in their Spring 2018 issue, Departures called the opening of the Home Design Shop, "The L.A. Upgrade," noting that "to make it big in Hollywood, Knoll is glamming up some of its most classical designs." Robb Report featured the LA Home Design Shop in its March 2018 issue asserting, "Knoll will never suffer in obscurity."

Robb Report and Departures emphasized the bold, new look of many of the instantly recognizable Knoll classics. Wassily chairs in gold, D'Urso swivel chairs in curly shearling, and an entire Platner dining set-up in rose gold, to name a few, all reimagine modern living. Robb Report commented, "The look was also meant to bring to life the then-and-now legacy of Knoll." The combination of white Moorish arches (an homage to Yves Vidal's Tangier York Castle), designed by Mark Lee of Johnstonmarklee, with reinvigorated classics and European introductions brings together the brand's origins under a singular, forward-looking space.
As Departures points out, "[Knoll] is reinventing the 20th century for the 21st century." Rose gold metallic, chrome and rosso rubino marble bring to life pieces like Saarinen Side Tables and Grasshopper Low Tables. In Departures, Benjamin Pardo, Knoll Design Director, commented, "Sunshine, candlelight and artificial light each change the characteristics of metals like rose gold. With LED lighting, we've lived through a period of everything being blue, so there's a desire to bring in warm light."

Both magazines celebrate the introduction of European products now sold in the U.S. for the first time. Piero Lissoni's Avio Sofa and Grasshopper Tables and Tobia Scarpa's Bastiano Lounge Collection further expand the Knoll residential portfolio and are exclusive to the Knoll Home Design Shop.
With this new space, Knoll challenges the status quo and challenges the very definition of Modern, offering the platform for designers to reimagine modern living.
