Warren Platner's sculptural armchair was featured in the November 2016 edition of Architectural Digest, in a feature on glamorous kitchen essentials.
When the architect designed the original armchair in 1966, he intended for it to be gold-plated. However, the technology of the time made gold plating in large-scale production impossible, leading to the nickel-plated steel known today. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Platner Collection, Knoll reissued the designs in 18 karat gold, fulfilling the designer's original wish.
In its understated elegance and homage to the era of Louis XV, the Platner armchair can individually make a statement in any kitchen, but brings a stunning aura of opulence as part of an entire dining set.
