Following the opening of the new Knoll Los Angeles Home Design Shop, Tastemade, a growing lifestyle brand that explores culture, food, and home design, created a dynamic Instagram story, highlighting the new space and the range of exuberant material finishes. Furthermore, Tastemade composed snapshot comparisons between images of original pieces and their updated, contemporary versions.
While visiting the LA Home Design Shop, Tastemade managed to get some time with principal architect of the space, Mark Lee, from LA-based architecture firm JohnstonMarkLee. When asked about the space, Lee noted, "we wanted to make this space much more domestic...we looked at a lot of midd-century Italian palazzos, focusing on their use of terrazzo, white oak floors, and herringbone floor patterns." All in all, Tastemade's short clip captures the bold, new look of the LA Home Design Shop. With exuberant material finishes and re-introduced products previously available only in Europe, the LA Home Design Shop further stretches the limits of modern design, forcing design enthusiasts and interior decorators to reimagine modern living.
