Platner Collection
Designed for Knoll in 1966, this elegant collection grew from Warren Platner’s desire to infuse modernism with “the kind of decorative, gentle, graceful kind of design that appeared in period style like Louis XV.”
Warren Platner
A graduate of Cornell University, architect Warren Platner worked with Raymond Loewy, Eero Saarinen, and I. M. Pei before opening his own practice. He designed the Georg Jensen Design Center and the Windows on the World restaurant—both in NYC—but it was his furniture collection for Knoll that earned Platner worldwide renown.
