American Masters, a PBS series that examines individuals that have contributed to the United States’ cultural fabric, recently released new films that are available online for free live stream on their website. Alongside biographies about Louisa May Alcott, Miles Davis, and Charlie Parker, is a documentary about Eero Saarinen, renowned designer and architect, and designer of the famous Tulip Chair.
American Masters — Eero Saarinen: The Architect that Saw the Future follows the life and career of famed modernist architect Eero Saarinen. He is best known for designing National Historical Landmarks such as the St. Louis Gateway Arch and General Motors Technical Center. He also designed the TWA Flight Center at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City. Saarinen designed some of the most recognizable Knoll pieces, like the Tulip Chairs and Tables, the Womb Chair and the Saarinen Executive Chairs.
