Knoll Chairman and CEO Andrew Cogan joined Yahoo! Finance on March 1 to discuss the future of the office as companies and employees look toward a broader re-opening of the economy amid the vaccine rollout.
“We sense a very strong desire on behalf of our clients and their employees to get back into the office, but the office we are going back to will not be the office we left a little over a year ago. The office will be more focused on collaboration and communication, and less on individual areas,” Cogan remarked during the interview.
Cogan described the workplace ecosystem that Knoll sees taking shape in the next 18-24 months, which will consist of a mix of remote and in-office work. The office will be the hub of collaboration, communication and culture that cannot be replicated remotely. To that point, Cogan asserted that collaborative spaces will be even more important than they were before the pandemic, though they will look different to allow for greater space and airflow.
