Reimagined and reissued Knoll Classics — the Cesca Stools, Saarienen Executive Stools and Butler Table — made waves with regional design press across the nation. The Houston Chronicle spotlighted all three designs in its luxury lifestyle section. “Though it was designed nearly 100 years ago, Marcel Breuer’s Cesca Chair is considered one of the most important chairs of the 20th century,” writes Houston Chronicle Architecture and Home Design Editor Diane Cowen. “So it’s appropriate that Knoll is reissuing it in bar and counter-stool heights to mark the centennial of the Bauhaus.”
360West Magazine also featured the Cesca Stools in an editorial highlighting the Bauhaus centennial. Of legendary Bauhaus-alum Marcel Breuer, Editorial Director Babs Rodriguez writes, “His tubular steel furniture, inspired by bicycle construction and fabricated using plumbing techniques, is as in demand today as when it first stunned the world. In honor of the 100th anniversary of the Bauhaus, Modern furniture manufacturer Knoll is reintroducing Breuer’s 1928 Cesca chair — perhaps best known as a dining chair featuring a caned seat and back — as both bar and counter stools. More exciting still, a split upholstery option is available on models of all heights.”
Additionally, South Florida Luxury featured the Butler Table, designed by former Planning Unit Member and Florence Knoll protege Lewis Butler, in its editorial spotlighting sophisticated black-and-white designs for the contemporary interior.
