Dividends Horizon has the versatility to provide thoughtful primary workspaces for focus work and concentration, inspiring Activity Spaces to encourage teamwork and collaboration, and distinctive private office and conference spaces to support organizational structure and large teams.  A consistent aesthetic and a robust set of common components and finish options support the wide range of demands of a dynamic and evolving office design.

Rapidly changing technology, the competitive economy and a diverse workforce are driving organizations to reimagine their workplace to compete for talent, increase speed to market and engage their people. Dividends Horizon helps organizations accomplish these goals, balancing concentration and collaboration; structure and innovation; cost containment and attract and retain.

    Key Benefits

A ROBUST AND VERSATILE SYSTEM SOLUTION.  Dividends Horizon provides both strength and versatility in all workplace applications. Well-chosen horizons, diverse floor plans and the right combination of modular and freestanding furniture offer clients and designers the freedom to make the most of their workplace.

ARCHITECTURAL DELINEATION OF SPACE.  Dividends Horizon delivers the right balance of concentration and collaboration. Panels provide a sense of privacy, refuge and organization in primary workspaces, while open weave screens and glass elements delineate space between primary and Activity Spaces without blocking light.

COST EFFICIENCY AND REDUCED COST OF OWNERSHIP. As organizations anticipate and address changes in the workplace, cost is a primary consideration.  Dividends Horizon is an open plan system designed to evolve, delivering exceptional initial value and continued efficiency to minimize the total cost of ownership.

    Focused

Today’s office requires individuals to concentrate on their work without being isolated from their colleagues. Dividends Horizon achieves focused planning through a blend of panels, storage and workspace placement.

    Shared

Collaboration in the workplace continues to increase in importance and frequency. Dividends Horizon offers primary workstations and activity spaces that support both planned and spontaneous collaboration. Shared desktops are the perfect solution when two or three people work together frequently, while storage elements and panels establish boundaries or shared work areas.

    Team

Groups need spaces that enable team work without leaving primary work space. Dividends Horizon benching workstations accommodate any number of users and are ideal for free-address facilities.

    Activity Spaces

With as much as 50% of work happening outside the primary workstation, organizations are dedicating more space to shared work and social activities. Dividends Horizon uses reconfigurable components to define a variety of work settings allowing organizational flexibility.

    Private Office

With smaller footprints, today’s private offices have an increased need for efficiency, performance and technology. Dividends Horizon combines these functional needs with innovative aesthetic forms to deliver refined, high-performance spaces using wall-mounted and freestanding components.

    Reception

Create a positive first impression with Dividends Horizon reception stations. Both compact and smart, these stations provide transaction space as well as convenient storage.

    Dividends Horizon with Height-adjustable Tables

In order to accommodate the rise of freestanding, height-adjustable tables in the office, the Dividends Horizon Panel has been re-engineered to be more robust and rigid. The strengthened panel allows for panel returns that do not need to be attached to worksurfaces or storage components for stability.

    Freestanding Spine

A visually light workstation solution with  flexible access to power and data—ideal for freestanding furniture such as height adjustable tables and mobile storage—creating a simple, cost effective solution.

    • Place freestanding tables and storage anywhere along the spine for the flexible access to power
    • Cost‐effective power and data distribution
    • Clean, streamlined aesthetic with continuous inserts, top caps and base covers

    Additional Info

    Sustainable Design and Environmental Certification

Dividends Horizon is the latest iteration of the Dividends system, originally designed by Carl Magnusson and David Noel in 1997. Recognizing the strength of Magnusson and Noel’s initial concept and thinking, but aware of changing aesthetics and new technology demands, Knoll Director of Design Benjamin Pardo opted to redesign and update Dividends in 2007.

Pardo enlisted Jeffrey Bernett, Nicholas Dodziuk and David Noel to evaluate the current product — adding where necessary, removing when appropriate and bringing an overall aesthetic freshness to the collection.

The resulting system, according to Pardo, “is all about a product in elevation, to define the space and let light and air flow through.” Jeffrey Bernett explains: “Dividends Horizon evolves the office landscape by creating a layered approach to furniture design, with new focal points and an overall design consistency that integrates existing product with new product offerings."

JEFFREY BERNETT studied business at Northwestern University and the University of Minnesota, before studying design at Parnham College in England. Combining his skillsets, he founded the multi-disciplinary design consultancy, Studio B, in 1995. The following year Bernett presented his debut collection at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) and was awarded the Editor’s Award for "Best of Show.”

Bernett continues to work in many disciplines — residential and office furniture, household products, lighting, transportation design, graphic design, packaging and bottle design, environment and interior architecture, and strategic planning. A partial list of clients includes B and B Italia, Bernhardt Design, Boffi, Cappellini, DWR, Knoll, L'Oreal, Michael Kors, and Northwest Airlines.

NICHOLAS DODZIUK studied industrial design at the Rhode Island School of Design before conducting research in Germany on Fulbright Fellowship. After working as a freelance designer for companies like Sony and Unilever, he joined the firm Consultants for Design Strategy (CDS) in 2003. At CDS he began a series of collaborations with Jeffrey Bernett. Together, the pair has designed furniture for Herman Miller, Design Within Reach and Knoll.

Dodziuk continues to work at CDC while teaching courses in design and fashion as an adjunct professor at the Parsons School of Design.
