Bertoia Bench

$3,414.00
This simple design was the first piece of furniture created by Harry Bertoia for Knoll. Although the bench does not have the signature wire grid of his seating collection, the welded wire base shows an early exploration of the material and foreshadows what was to follow. The bench also makes a great coffee table. More Details

Harry Bertoia

Italian sculptor and furniture designer Harry Bertoia and Florence Knoll (then Schust) met as students at Cranbrook Academy of Art. Upon joining the team at Knoll, Bertoia was given free rein to experiment with the medium of his choice. He chose metal. “When it came to rod or wire, whether bent or straight, I seemed to find myself at home,” he said.
