Design Milk's "Friday Five" - a weekly, online series where tastemakers and influential figures in the worlds of art, architecture, interiors and more choose their five must-haves, featured Benjamin Pardo, Knoll Design Director. Design Milk chose Pardo, who joined Knoll in 2005, for his design-driven lifestyle and extensive collaborative work with the modern masters of today, from David Adjaye to Marc Newson.
“Knoll remains one of the most influential forces in Modernist design, launching in 1938 and going on to fill a roster full of iconic furniture pieces,” wrote editor Caroline Williamson of Knoll’s leadership. She noted, “One of the key players for keeping the brand as successful as it is and at the forefront of modern design is Benjamin Pardo.”
Pardo’s selections for the ‘Friday Five’ reflect his individual taste: an amalgam of practical-minded, design-driven objects that are subtle homages to the Knoll modernist heritage and vision. His selection included: the Topo Design Travel Bag, the “ideal travel companion – perfectly proportioned and durable, too,” for international travels; a Smythson Notebook for capturing ideas; Lily Nook, a mail order Canadian Lilium specialist; cufflinks by Georg Jenson; and Phigvel Engineer Boots.
