The Knoll Los Angeles Showroom took home the award for Small Workplaces at the Calibre Design Awards on Friday, May 18 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles. The 30th Annual Calibre Design Awards was aptly themed “Evolve,” celebrating excellence in design work and the evolution of people, cities, businesses and the industry as a whole.
Knoll won the Workplace Small Award for the downtown Los Angeles Showroom alongside the architecture firm Wirt Design Group, ARO, Fanelli PM and Glumac & Taslimi Construction. David Fridlund, Principal of Wirt Design Group, accepted the award on behalf of the team. The Knoll Los Angeles Showroom, “exemplifies contemporary workspace design while paying tribute to the brand’s history and the panoramic views of downtown Los Angeles.”
The Knoll Los Angeles Showroom showcases flexible and adaptable workplace design which has become increasingly popular and prevalent today. The space features pieces by both classic and contemporary Knoll designers, from David Adjaye, Rockwell Group, Joe D'Urso and Eero Saarinen.
The Calibre Design Awards is held annually by the International Interior Design Association Southern California Chapter (IIDA SoCal). The IIDA SoCal was founded in 1995 and has since served a network of Commercial Interior Designers through exposure to new ideas, opportunities and experts worldwide. IIDA seeks to advance the interior design profession through, “education, legislation, leadership, design excellence, accreditation and community outreach.”
