The Knoll Atlanta Showroom hosted Going Beyond Wellness, a panel discussion on well-being in the workplace covering topics from the quality design of the workplace to creating an engaging space to encourage collaboration and retain top talent. The panel discussion and breakfast took place on Thursday, September 20.

Panelists for the event ranged from leading real estate and architectural talent as well as wellness experts in the Atlanta region. Andrea Sarate, Knoll Director of Workplace Strategy moderated the panel discussion. With her background in cultural anthropology and experience in the realms of technology, hospitality and healthcare, Sarate brings a unique and well-rounded perspective to the Knoll research division.

Betsy Nurse, Principal and Director of Interiors at HOK Atlanta, is an experienced designer who oversees workplace strategy, design and delivery for all projects within her region ranging from corporate headquarters and non-profits. Nurse brought an architectural point of view to building complete environments with improved efficiency, effectiveness and expression that support an organization’s culture, strategy and goals.

Juanita Dixon, a health and wellness expert from the Optum team, specializes in health practices bringing a passion for preventative health problems to the table. Rachel Blankenship, a Real Estate Executive at Earnst & Young, specializes in and has over twenty-five years of experience in corporate real estate.

Together, each panelist helped inform a well-rounded discussion surrounding wellness in the modern workplace, leaving attendees and participants with a renewed perspective on how design can enhance well-being.
